Artist's Quarter Quarterly magazine

Tentacle won a five way pitch to design and print the Artist's Quarter Quarterly (AQQ), a magazine promoting and charting the events and activities forming the Art at the Centre, Maidstone Borough Council scheme, which sought to develop an Artist's Quarter in the heart of Maidstone.

Art at the Centre is a pioneering award scheme from Arts Council England, South East that aims to engage and involve artists within sustainable regeneration projects and highlight the valuable contribution that the creative industries can make to both the  cultural and economic regeneration of a community.

To reflect the very essence of the Art at the Centre projects the AQQ masthead was created using antique printers woodblocks that were specifically found for the purpose. In addition to the masthead, the internal layout of the magazine did not conform to a grid but evolved organicaly to reflect the unstructured nature of the creative process.
